Local Elections 1st May 2008
We held our own in Fant Ward this year, in the face of a fierce election battle being fought by all three other parties including the defending Labour Councillor. No other ward in Maidstone was fought over by all parties in the same way that Fant was. There were around 100 garden posters dotted around the ward - quite a spectacle on some roads! Sadly the Tories managed to win the ward. In Headcorn Penny fought hard against the Tory candidate but, in line with the trend across the country, the Tory sadly won.
We received almost 2000 votes across Maidstone with an average vote of 9.1% in the wards where we stood.
