Stuart Jeffery
Stuart has lived in Maidstone for the last 8 years and and has lived in Mid Kent for most of his life. He is 41 years old, a qualified nurse and is married to Dawn, together they have a daughter Poppy. Stuart currently works as a manager in the NHS. He has held deep seated green principles throughout his adult life, starting when he joined CND at the age of 15.
Stuart is the Green Party's prospective parliamentary candidate for Maidstone and the Weald in the next General Election.
Keen to champion ethical living whenever and where ever possible, Stuart belongs to a number of ethical and green organisations:
- Stuart is the chair of the local Fair Trade Steering Committee
- Stuart founded Sustainable Maidstone with local Green Derek Eagle. Sustainable Maidstone is a community group delivering green initiatives across Maidstone.
- Stuart is a director of Seasons Food CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise company retailing and promoting local food in Maidstone.
- Stuart is the Green Party's national spokesperson for health.
- Stuart is a member of the Keep Our NHS Public campaign's national steering committee.
Stuart has stood in Borough and County Council elections for Maidstone. He last stood for the Green Party in the local elections in Fant Ward in Maidstone.
Stuart maintains a political blog that discusses local, national and international issues.
