Wendy: "I am 50 years old and have lived Maidstone for 24 years. I work part time in the City of London for an insurance services company where I am a member of the Environmental team as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
"I belong to various ethical organisations including Sustainable Maidstone.
"I am keen to support local businesses and to promote our local identity to stop Maidstone becoming a clone town.
"I want to reduce town centre traffic congestion by promoting public transport, increasing cycle lanes and making streets safer for both cyclists and pedestrians. I also want to promote road safety by pushing for 20 mph speed limits in some residential areas and ensuring speed limits are enforced for the safety and comfort for local residents.
"As a member of Maidstone Choral Union I am keen to promote local arts and music and encourage other social activities for all age groups without increasing the number of night-clubs in the town centre. I want to make Maidstone a safe and enjoyable place to visit in the evening for everyone in the community."
