Green campaigner for Allington, Rachel Rodwell, has started a petition to KCC to get the proposed bus service from Hermitage Park moving after learning that they have been sitting on these funds for this for seven years.
Rachel Rodwell, Green Party campaigner for Allington: “It is simply unbelievable that KCC can drag their heels for such a long time. We have a climate crisis and a cost of living crisis, what we need are useful bus services such as this one.
“The service has been funded by developer contributions, money that KCC are sitting on rather than spending on this much needed service. We need to get these buses moving.”
Local resident, Georgina Noakes said: “I feel very disappointed that having been in correspondence with KCC and the housing developers for almost a year, there is still no date confirmed for the bus service that was due to start last April. Allington residents currently lack a direct bus service to the hospital and for those unable to walk to the London Road, a regular service into town would be invaluable”
