Maidstone Greens have welcomed the news that the Nu-Venture Bus 78 has been resurrected and now cover the number 8 route between Queens Road, Barming, Upper Fant Road and Maidstone Town Centre. Green Cllr Stuart Jeffery had been in contact with local bus companies and KCC chiefs to try to stop the closure.
The service was previously discontinued in 2022 because it was not possible to run it reliably because of driver shortages at the time. Maidstone Greens led the successful campaign to save the vital service back in 2019 with the 78 being replaced by the 79A on Queens Rd / Shaftesbury Drive.
