Local Greens have called on the owners of Mid Kent Shopping Centre in Allington to reverse their decision to throw shop workers out of their car park unless they each pay £600 per year. The decision by LCP Properties has angered staff and local residents.
Green Party campaigner, Rachel Rodwell, “I have written to the management company demanding they reverse their decision which is one of pure greed.
“The shop workers cannot afford to pay such exorbitant prices and there is very little public transport that can get them to work here. Neighbours have seen their roads filled with shop workers’ cars and are getting upset too.”
“Four years ago the country was feeling grateful for our key workers, now we have a company trying to screw money out of them.”
